On a website it is essential to pay special dedication to their content for several reasons: it must capture our visitor’s attention, it must be attractive and easy to read. As well, the written contents of a website -called copy or copywrite- will be read, indexed and tracked by search engines such as Google to assess the relevance of such site in relation to its subject, theme, industry or category. The result of this assessment determines where -and if- the website appears in search engine results. Google considers whether it will be a good result for its users or not.

This has to be taken into account when writing digital contents or copywrite. Little text or a very poor in “keywords” (*) can make a very good website, full of visuals or multimedia content, for instance, not rank well in search engines results. Also, contents saturated in keywords can be highly counterproductive, since the site in question can be penalized by blackhat spam techniques.

(*) words and terms with which prospects and visitors can find your site because they search with them. (For example: “web design” is a keyword/phrase or keyword for this website and “digital content” for this particular page within the website).
